We recommend you to leave a copy of messages on the server only for a specified period of time and the maximum period should not exceed 14 days. E-mails can quickly accumulate and can affect your email account and it might stop working.
Outlook 2010
- From the menu bar, select "File" tab
- Select "Account Settings", and after select "Account Settings"
- When the window opens, select the email account
- In the "Account change" window, select "More Settings", situated in the bottom-right corner
- Select "Advanced" tab
- Under "Delivery", check/uncheck "Leave copy of messages on server" as you want to use and click "OK"
Note: E-mails can be deleted from the server when using POP3.
Outlook 2007
- From the menu bar, select "Tools" tab
- Select "Account Settings"
- When the window opens, double click on the email account
- In the "Change E-mail Account" window, select "Advanced" tab
- Check/uncheck "Leave copy of messages on server" as you want to use and click "OK"
Thunderbird
- From the menu bar, select "Tools" tab
- Select "Account Settings" from drop down list
- In the panel from left select "Server Settings"
- In the section from right, check/uncheck "Leave messages on server" as you want to use and click "OK"
Windows Live Mail
- From the menu bar, select "Tools" tab
- Select "Account Settings" from drop down list
- When the window opens, select your email account
- Select "Properties"
- Select "Advanced"
- Check or uncheck "Leave copy of messages on server" as you want to use
- Click "Apply" and"OK"
